Personal History

Mark Crichton was born May 16th, 2358 in Michigan, USA. Upon turning 17, Crichton enlisted early in Starfleet Academy and quickly made his way through his academic career. During the academy, he had a temporary posting aboard the USS Galactica as part of his command training courses. Sydney Crichton is born during this time (see Family History). Following graduation in 2379, Crichton's first operational posting was to the USS Portland, an Intrepid Class Starship. During a battle aboard the Portland, Crichton proposed a tactical maneuver to save the ship from destruction...this maneuver succeeded and was later named the Crichton Maneuver. Due to his tactical brilliance, Crichton was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred to the USS Galactica, a Parliament Class Starship. Between 2380 - 2385, Crichton quickly rose to Commander, where he was transferred to the USS Endurance-C, an early testbed for the newly commissioned Odyssey Class of starships. While serving as first officer of the Endurnance-C, the Captain was KIA during an away mission. Crichton was given command of the Endurance and soon promoted to Captain. While exploring deep space, the Endurance-C made first contact with numerous civilizations and charted 239 star systems. Upon returning to Federation space and ending its deep space mission, the Endurance-C was decommissioned early and converted into a museum to display true Federation values..where it resided at the Athan Prime Fleet Museum for 12 months until late-2402. In recognition of his achievements, Crichton was given command of the newly built USS Endurance-D, a Constitution-III Class Starship. In November 2402, the USS Endurance-D was ambushed by Romulans in Mars orbit and severely crippled, but the USS Odin was able to save the ship before it's destruction. After Sol was lost to the Romulans, Crichton was given command of the Endurance-C to recruit allies and mount a counter-offensive.

Family History

In 2378 while serving on temporary assignment aboard the USS Galactica, Crichton had a relationship that resulted in the birth of his daughter, Sydney Crichton. Her mother unfortunately died the same year during a training exercise. He had cared for Sydney throughout his career in Starfleet, bringing her with him from posting to posting. He shared his love of exploration in hopes she would one day follow in his footsteps. In 2395, at the age of 17, she would do just that when she enlisted in Starfleet Academy.
