Promotions are based on two principle items. Points earned and simming rate completed monthly. In order to be considered for promotion ALL players must be meeting the required simming rates weekly/monthly as outlined in the Game Play rules regardless of points earned.
Points Earned are assessed by the Grey Council and your commanding officer (if you are under the rank of Commander. See Control Grades)
Contributing to the storyline and pushing the story forward = 5pts.
Exceeding simming rate requirements for the entire review period = 5pts
Up to 5 additional points can be awarded in extraordinary circumstances, at the discretion of CO's.
Control Grades: Control grades are from the rank of Commander and up. Promotions to control grades must be approved by the Grey Council, and will be awarded by a member of the Admiralty. Players with a Control Grade rank must meet a minimum simming requirement each month so as to not slow gameplay for other players.
Control grades are not guaranteed promotions when you meet the promotion threshold.
